About Motiva Preservé

Motiva Preservé is a new, minimally invasive breast augmentation technique that uses tissue-preserving technologies and methods to enhance your breasts in a safer, more effective manner. This procedure maintains the inner support structures of your breasts by avoiding extensive internal cutting and uses tailored implants that look, feel, and move like breast tissue.

Motiva SmoothSilk Ergonomix®

When performing this procedure, Dr. Brown uses Motiva SmoothSilk Ergonomix® to refine your breasts. These are cohesive gel implants that integrate naturally with your breast tissues. (1) They also adapt shape as your body moves and changes position in the same manner that natural breast tissue does. (2)

Benefits

Motiva Preservé offers several groundbreaking benefits for breast augmentation patients, including:

  • Less Invasive Nature: Dr. Brown performs this procedure using techniques that gently move your breast tissues rather than cut through them. This significantly reduces the amount of trauma and damage that your surrounding chest tissues sustain during a traditional breast augmentation procedure.
  • Preserved Breast Structures: Motiva Preservé maintains the structure and functionality of the ligaments, nerves, and other structures in your breasts, allowing you to elevate your appearance without any additional anxieties.
  • Maintained Movement: The Motiva SmoothSilk Ergonomix® breast implants can alter their shape as your body moves to replicate the natural movements and feeling of breast tissue.
  • Shorter Recovery: You can return to most of your daily activities as soon after your procedure. Recovery is significantly shorter than that of traditional breast augmentation.
  • Tailored Treatment Plans: Dr. Brown tailors each procedure according to your aesthetic goals and natural anatomy to ensure results flatter your pre-existing figure.
  • Natural-Looking Results: You will be able to enjoy subtle yet transformative improvements to the fullness of your breasts once you fully recover.

Candidates

You may be a suitable candidate for Motiva Preservé if you are interested in enhancing your breasts’ upper pole fullness but already possess a symmetrical and shapely bust. You should also have a preference for placing your implants above your pectoralis muscle rather than below it.

To qualify for this procedure, you will need to be in good general health and maintain realistic expectations regarding the results of your procedure. You should also be nonsmoking or willing to quit beforehand. Dr. Brown will determine your candidacy during your personal consultation.

Personal Consultation

Dr. Brown customizes each Motiva Preservé procedure, which is why we ask that you attend a personal consultation. During this consultation, Dr. Brown will discuss what this procedure consists of, finalize your candidacy, and create your treatment plan. He will also perform a physical evaluation to examine your natural anatomy and breast tissue quality. Through these details, he will provide you with a tailored solution for your goals.

If you are ready to refresh your look, please schedule your consultation online. If you have any questions or would prefer scheduling over the phone, please call (619) 461-1500 to reach either office.

Preparation

Once you schedule your appointment, Dr. Brown will provide you with a set of detailed pre-operative instructions to help you prepare. He may instruct you to:

  • Avoid Certain Medications: Discontinue any medications or supplements that may thin your blood, such as ibuprofen or aspirin.
  • Prepare Time Away: You will need to request time away from your career, social activities, and other responsibilities to allow your body to rest.
  • Arrange Your Transportation: Arrange transportation to and from your procedure. Dr. Brown uses anesthesia during the procedure, which means that you will be unable to drive.
  • Fill Your Medications: Pick up any prescriptions you will need beforehand. This will reduce any post-operative stress by ensuring that you have your medications ready when you need them.
  • Stop Smoking: Refrain from any nicotine use in the weeks before your procedure, and maintain your abstinence throughout your recovery.
  • Refrain From Alcohol: Avoid consuming any alcohol in the days before and after your breast augmentation.

Procedure

Upon your arrival, you will meet the operating room staff and anesthetist, as well as Dr. Brown. Dr. Brown will reconfirm each of your desired enhancements and answer any last-minute questions. He will then cleanse your skin and make preoperative markings before the anesthetist administers either local anesthesia, general anesthesia, or sedation, depending on your personal comfort levels and treatment goals.

Dr. Brown will then place an incision in the inframammary fold, or the crease that sits below your breast. This placement also has a low incidence of any post-operative complications. He will use a device called the Motiva® Channel Separator to create a pathway to your underlying chest structures, all without cutting or damaging your natural breast tissue. Dr. Brown will then insert the Motiva® Inflatable Balloon, gently pushing your breast tissues back to create space for your new implants. Dr. Brown will then insert your implant into the pocket using a specialized insertion sleeve. He will then close each incision before allowing you to rest under the care of his team.

Recovery

Unlike traditional breast augmentation procedures, Motiva Preservé allows you to return to light activities within hours. Many of Dr. Brown’s former patients who have undergone this procedure feel well enough to return to most of their routine by the evening of their procedure, or the day after. However, Dr. Brown may direct you to refrain from any physically demanding or vigorous activities for another few weeks.

You may experience some swelling, bruising, or discomfort after your procedure. These effects are temporary and will dissipate on their own shortly after. However, you may also manage these effects using a cold compress or medications. Dr. Brown may direct you to wear a compression garment as your body heals itself. We ask that you do so, as this garment will help prevent further swelling and protect your breasts.

Dr. Brown will give you any additional instructions and information during your consultation.

Results

You will be able to notice improvements in your appearance immediately after returning home, but the full results of your Motiva Preservé will become more apparent as you heal. The exact results of your procedure will vary depending on your desired results, but you can generally expect fuller, more symmetrical breasts that look, move, and feel like breast tissue.

The results of your procedure are long-lasting, with effects that you can enjoy for years to come. However, breast implants are not lifelong devices, and Dr. Brown recommends checking them regularly to ensure their well-being.
