A board certified San Diego plastic surgeon, Dr. Daniel Brown specializes in Facial Rejuvenation, Body Contouring, Breast Enhancement and Skin Treatments.

Dr. Brown is an Assistant Clinical Professor of Plastic Surgery at UCSD Medical Center where he teaches plastic surgeons in training the newest and most innovative plastic surgical techniques while providing best-in-class care for his patients. Dr. Brown’s private practice has two locations for your convenience – in La Jolla’s Scripps/Ximed building, minutes from Del Mar, Rancho Santa Fe, and North County communities, and in Carmel Valley.
VOLUNTEER WORK
Dr. Brown has performed surgeries with the non-profit organization InterFACE, www.InterfaceKids.org . InterFACE funds and performs primarily cleft lip and palate repairs for children in Mexico. In the San Diego area, Dr. Brown continues to give back to the community by performing emergency surgeries for trauma victims, reconstructing their bodies and their lives.
RESEARCH
Dr. Brown’s research findings are frequently published in prestigious medical journals and have been presented regionally, nationally, and in Australia, Great Britain, and France. His plastic surgical research at New York University Medical Center focused on the effects of stem cell therapy on wound healing, novel techniques to grow facial bones for syndromic children, and the effects of radiation on wound healing and new blood vessel growth. Additionally, Dr. Brown recently focused on research related to nipple sparing mastectomy surgery for breast cancer patients.
TRAINING
Dr. Brown’s plastic surgery training was completed in San Diego at UCSD Medical Center and his general surgical training was completed in New York City at St. Vincent’s Hospital and Medical Center. In addition, he completed a fellowship in microsurgical and craniofacial research at NYU Medical Center’s Institute for Reconstructive Plastic Surgery. While living in New York City, Dr. Brown treated multiple trauma victims during the tragedy of the 9/11/01 terror attacks on the World Trade Centers, as well as treating victims of the Staten Island Ferry crash on 10/15/03. He brings a competent, focused, and calming force to critical situations.
EDUCATION
Dr. Brown completed his medical school curriculum at The Medical College of Pennsylvania & Hahnemann University School of Medicine (Now Drexel College of Medicine) in Philadelphia. He completed his undergraduate degree at the University of Pittsburgh. Dr. Brown supported himself through college by working as an Emergency Medical Technician (EMT) responding by ambulance to medical emergencies. Dr. Brown was recognized as a Merit Scholar and graduated suma cum laude, in the top 5% of his class, with a Bachelor’s of Science Degree in Neuroscience. Dr. Brown continues his education by staying abreast of the latest plastic surgical innovations and technological advancements.
PERSONAL
Dr. Brown and his wife enjoy living and working in San Diego. Dr. Brown counts himself fortunate to be living his dream of helping people look and feel their best through plastic surgery while living in his favorite city in the world. When asked why he loves his job, Dr. Brown stated, “I love my profession as a plastic surgeon because it combines the amazing human body, being an artist, meticulous surgery, and helping people look and feel their best. I doubt that I will ever retire, because transforming people’s lives through plastic surgery is so rewarding – it energizes me.” Dr. Brown also loves traveling the world to experience new cultures, hosting dinner parties as an amateur chef, and is an avid reader, lover of animals, and has a big heart for people and their well-being.
